Sidelight privacy but with a view advice?

I have a courtyard villa with a sidelight window adjacent to the door.
I like looking outside, but want privacy/security especially at night.
The window is 7"x35" with a 1/2" molding around it.

Privacy film apparently is not private when dark outsidem, light inside.

Louvres are a thought, but I don't think 1/2" mounting frame is quite enough.

I don't want a shade, curtains or blinds.

There is a blind inside the glass at Lowes/HD, but I suspect it's pricey
to change out the whole window, just to get a blind.

Any affordable easy fixes out there? Thanks,

We had a sidelight in Hadley next to the front door and I bought an opaque film at Lowes or Home Depot or MAYBE on ebay that had the look of Palm fronds. I only used it (I Scotch taped it up) when we would return to Ohio so as people couldn't see in if they came up to the front door and see all of the lanai furniture stacked in the great room that made it clear we weren't there. I MAY have cut it from a wider piece but it seems to me it was made for a side light...

You really could see movement through it but not what or who.....

I want a leaded glass door to let in more light, but I don't want people peeking in at night.

Might take some looking but Lowes-type stores have a film which is applied to the glass to obscure the outside view of what's inside. Do a search for "window film" and you'll get lots of choices including the stained-glass look. It isn't sticky, it's easy to apply, and also can be removed easily. I did that to "hide" the inside of my Ohio garage contents since the personnel door had a large window in it - never understood why. It used "static-cling" to keep itself in place but was very easy to remove and didn't leave any marks on the glass.

That's it! We used this and cut it to fit the sidelight. You couldn't see through it but it let it light.

We used Entrypoint located up in SS on Bichara Blvd Plaza. If you want something permanent they can change the clear glass insert into any style of decorative glass you can pick out in their showroom. Would take them less than 1/2 hour to do the change. You can also have your front door changed also. Highly recommend them.
