Can anyone direct me to a really good hair stylist close by. I am still driving two hours back to my hair stylist (Max) where I lived before and figure I should start looking here since I live here now.
I did check the search but it brought up info from 2008.
Thanks

First of all, let me say I'm picky! I wear my hear short but still want to look like a girl. Have fine hair but lots of it. Golf, swim, etc. so I need something that looks OK when you've been in the golf cart. Not a big fan of hard, crunchy hair! Anybody out there know somebody who can do this style and kind of hair?

Hi Joyce, unfortunately there isn't an Aveda salon in The villages, here's the link for the salon locations: http://www.aveda.com/templates/door/usa_results.tmpl
I could be wrong, but I don't think Aveda has hair color, seems to me the caustic ingredients in hair color go against their mission of being green with botanical ingredients.
However, sometimes you can call a salon and ask if they will use a brand of color that you want and if you bring it, they will use it.
Good Luck!!

I used to go to an Aveda salon up north and she did use color! They don't "do" perms!
Finding a stylist is trial and error. Everyone's hair is different and what works with one person won't probably, for another. Just my experience anyway.

I went to Parker at Root 466 yesterday, told him to "cut it off". It's getting hot and I'm in the pool every day. He gave me what I think is a really cute pixie cut, still feminine and soft. This morning I jumped out of bed, showered, towel dried the little bit of hair I now have, threw some Bed Head Manipulator on it, a little lipstick, a little mascara, 2 classes, a run into town to do errands, a jump in the pool and can I say I think I look great? Haircut, styling and shampoo by Parker-- $25, coffee--free, headmassage--priceless!

I have been going to the same hair stylist for the last 10 years. Her name is Natalie and she works at Argo Hair. She always listens to what i want and may make a few suggestions of her own. I literally have people stop and ask me constantly who does my hair. I think you would be happy with her.

Roger at Roots on Southern Trace Plaza recently styled my hair and am really pleased. He listened to my ideas, added his own and voila.....success.
My daughter who is visiting from MA also had her hair styled by Joshua at Roots and was extremely pleased and told Josh that she will have to fly down for her next appt. (J/K) Daughter returned to MA yesterday.

I've been going to Chadia's Hair Salon! - They just recently opened in Lady Lake. She did a wonderful color change on my hair and my cut finally "moves"! I've been trying to get a nice feel in my hair for YEARS!.
Call her - she's at 510 County Road 466, Suite #104A - 352-750-2335. Let her know that Tall Terri sent you. She and her ladies will help you with anything that's stressing you about your hair.
Professional facials as well!!:pepper2:
Just a quick comment - I've yet to see the hair cuts looking the same for everybody - unlike some other salons I've visited. also - no "old lady" looks!

After reading posts here, I went to Victoria Hair Co on 466 last year. Couldn't be more pleased with the condition of my hair now that Victoria has been doing it for several months. I had my done by Parker today based on your recommendation of him and am I glad. He listened to what I wanted - a pixie type of cut that I could just wash and towel or finger dry and that could either be spiked or brushed forward/back. I have gone to other stylists and shown them pics of what I wanted only to have them do what THEY wanted instead. He didn't need a pic, he just listened to what I said I would like as the final result and delivered that. What a joy!
I will definately be going back to him when I need it trimmed!

Victoria was my stylist when she was co-owner of Urban Hair Salon a few years ago and I loved her. I'd recommend her without reservation. The only reason I don't go to her today is because I found a stylist at the same salon I have my nails done and I like the convenience of a one stop shop. However, I pay $140 every 5 weeks to have my hair dyed, highlighted, cut, and styled and am thinking it's time to check out Victoria's prices.

I also live near 466A in the village of Duval. All the hair salons in The Villages shopping plazas are owned by The Villages and the hairdressers are all recent graduates of The Villages Salon Academy. After trying several of these salons I finally found an excellent hair stylist and her name is Dina and she works at Cal's beauty salon but it is in Spanish Springs. It is worth the drive to go to someone that does a great job, I hope that helps and welcome to The Villages.

My stylist at Root 66 was charging me $52.00 for a wash/cut/blow dry (not including tip) and I thought that was outrageous so I stopped going. I go to cals at Colony but it is such a basic place....no wash or blow dry. They just spray water on your hair and cut it. They don't seem to know how to style. I'm headed back up north soon and have made an appointment with my stylist to get a cut and color using a cap for 60.00. I'm a happy camper!
