What time:

1) was the driver saying he would be in front of your home?
2) did your car leave your driveway to go to the airport?
3) was the flight scheduled to takeoff?

Did you read the post you responded to? The 1 (one) answer you need is driver was too late and too far away from OP to get customers to the airport on time.

Groome may usually be on time and reliable, but they sunk big time this time.

Did you follow the van via the link Groome sent you? If you live in a new area, it can be very difficult to find new addresses via Waze. I have used Groome several times and they are far above the other companies in terms of the service they provide.

Sorry that this happened, but you won't convince people not to use Groome. You will have to find another way to feel better.

If driver had an issue finding the address he should have called the house about it WAY BEFORE he'd be too late!!! What a major drag. Sorry you had to go through that.

I've used Groome several times, without an issue.
It can be hard to find homes in a new village. I had to "walk" a driver thru to my house when St Catherine was new and only had a few homes in it. Same issue when getting deliveries to my home...

If you live in some villages south of rt. 44 addresses are not on GPS as yet. Try to use your own address on map sites to verify.

Never used Groome so I have no opinion on the quality of their service one way or the other.

We've always used a private shuttle service but switched to Workman Transportation after some inevitable price hikes by the private guy--totally understandable but hard on the pocketbook. We like Workman because they make only two stops: Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood. They do provide shuttle service to and from the two pickup points for a modest fee but it is no problem for us to get to Lake Sumter Landing and board there. We can be sure of only one more stop--Brownwood--before leaving for the airport.

Their drivers also make sure we know where to go once we get to the airport.

We alternate depending on the circumstances—Workman or Groome. Used at least 20 times and never had a problem. That must have been very stressful for you.

We only used Groome once and it was a phenomenal experience. Our flight was very early in the morning so we decided to stay at a hotel that was located just outside of the airport's property the night before our flight. Our plan was to have Groome drop us off at the airport and we would take the hotel's shuttle from the airport to the hotel. However, the Groome driver went out of his way to take us directly to the front door of the hotel after dropping everybody else off at the airport. Based on that experience, I would highly recommend this company to others. Sorry you had a bad experience, but that may have been an anomaly which should not be used to discourage others from using the service of this great company. However, I hope that you contacted Groome's management and gave them the opportunity to make amends for this unfortunate situation.

Pretty clear it was in the area of 6:10AM. I think her car left her driveway since she drove her guests to the airport. Doesn't make any difference what time the flight was, Groome driver indicated he couldn't get them to the airport on time. That caused her to drive her guests to the airport which required her car to leave the driveway. Just saying.

I don’t get many of the responses. A lot of these replies are almost blaming the OP and siding with Groome. If groome took on the job of picking up a ride, then it’s their responsibility to know where this client lives to give them the right time on when the pickup is to occur so they will get to the airport in time for their flight. It’s not the responsibility of the client to calculate the pickup time nor if the driver knows where the home is.
I used to use groome many times to & from another airport and they were pretty good, BUT when I hear they are starting to fall down on their responsibilities, I won’t use them anymore. There are other ways to get shuttled to the airport and I don’t want to worry if I’m going to get picked up or not

I didn't read any comment that blamed the OP. People are simply stating their positive experiences with Groome. And they pointing out that the OP's attempt to damage a business (in his first post) is unwarranted.

I will speculate that the problem is the title of the post. DON'T USE... is not the way to relate a bad experience. 1 person having a problem should not equate to NOBODY ON TOTV SHOULD USE this company. I feel bad for the OP's inconvenience, as I'm sure everyone does. That would probably be reflected in the replies if the thread had a different title.

I use Groome, and they seem to be alright most of the time, but because the first time I used them, they not only did not come, but had no record of the fact that I had booked them, although they had taken the money from my credit card. Travel at that time was for work and timing was very important. Since then, I do use Groome but… I have a backup plan.

That's the price you pay for home pick-up...

If you want less stops, use Workman, which only stops at the Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter and the Brownwood hotel...

I fly 3-4 times a month for work and have found Workman to be the most reliable. Its a short drive to Brownwood and I'm guaranteed to be picked up. Amazon struggles to find my house, so the last thing I need is someone else struggling to find it when I absolutely need the ride.

I've always said, when things go wrong, blame the victim.

As has been said, multiple times, NO ONE IS BLAMING THE VICTIM for Groome's error...

Sharing one's positive experience with a company after someone has said "DON'T USE THEM" is not blaming the victim...

Have used them about a half a dozen times and only issue we had was the last time they were a good half an hour early, but expected the passenger to go even though we got the alert in the morning that he was still a half an hour away… Fortunately, it worked out But inconvenient

We’ve had problems too, although they are the only shuttle service we’ve tried since purchasing in TV 2 years ago for periodic visits. I think they are having employee problems, like most businesses.

In November the driver was half an hour late picking us up from the airport, and there was no one in the office to answer the phone since it was early morning. When he arrived he had no comment about being late.

Our previous visit they came ONE HOUR early to pick up my son to go to the airport, at 3:30 a.m.!! Luckily he’s a light packer and ran out in 5 min.

Before this we had been very happy with their service. Something is going sideways lately.

Despite having an email with a stated pick up time of 3 a.m., Groome failed to pick me up. They admitted their driver overslept. The problem is that there is no emergency contact outside of office hours. I drove myself and needless to say it was a close call to make the plane.

I used them in January and again in February. Both times, they arrived within 5 minutes of their appointed time.

I received text updates and I could even track the progress of the driver on my phone...

The only hiccup I've had was when my plane was late arriving @ Orlando. I called them from the tarmac and they told me the driver couldn't wait, as he had others to take care of. They put me on the next pick-up, so I had lunch and a beer at the airport and was on my way an hour later...

Never happened to us. We look at the map to see where they are. My son and daughter-in-law law were suppose to be picked up this week at 2:41. They got there at 2:26 and I went back to bed.

It could happen if the OP lives in one of the newer sections. Since those roads and houses didn't exist before, Google maps, WAZE, and in-car GPS systems take some time to learn those addresses.

I've used Groome to Brownwood and back to my house on one occasion and they were very on time.

I did miss a call an hour before as I was getting ready to leave and had to call the lady back and verify that I was still on schedule. The guy picked me up exactly on time. I was thinking wow be ready before the time stated as I was still finishing breakfast and he had to wait a few minutes for me to gather my packed bags.

Riding back from the airport as soon as the Workman shuttle turned into Brownwood the driver was right there standing outside his SUV parked behind the shuttle. I was very impressed with their service. And this was last year back when my new neighborhood wasn't on google maps yet. Maybe I just got a good driver.

Plenty of parking. There were numerous empty spaces. I was parked there for a week over on the right side. Only problem I had was my car was a little dirty. I've been spoiled having a garage. Outside of that my car is a porta-potty on wheels for birds. I'm thinking of putting men/women stickers on the roof with little bird pics!

Dragging my suitcases out to my car, throwing them into the trunk, driving to a hotel and park. Then unloading my car again to go sit on a bench waiting for the one-hour bus ride to leave does not sound like fun. I really enjoy the home pickup!!
