We drive to Gainesville every month. Along with Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods, Buc-ee’s will be our destination stop on the way back home.
While traveling gas and clean bathrooms were always worth the stop. Now our stop will be snacks, bakery, and something to drink. Of course if you are a jerky fan, you will be in awe.

How about the Brisket sangwiches? We usually go every month or so to Daytona. It’s more than the great food it’s the nutty atmosphere and cleanliness and the gas prices for fuel the ride home. It’s an experience for sure. Beef Jerky and Fudge are plentiful and unbelievable! OCALA sounds good to me!

According to Google Maps, if the new site is at I-75 and Highway 236, the location will be quite far from Ocala. Actually, it is even north of Gainsville and Alachua. It will be great as we travel to Michigan, but I wouldn't consider it 'near' The Villages. Or is there another Highway 236 in Ocala that Google Maps didn't find?

Maybe they mean "Exit" 236? I take that to get on 301 when going back to MD...

Their brisket is pretty good but why do the put bbq sauce on the brisket sandwich? It just hides the taste of the meat.
I know why you like the place.. It's because Buc-ee rhymes with Nucky.. :1rotfl:

On our car trip across country in November when we moved here from California we stopped at 2 in TX, and 1 in I think MS (not sure). It was our first experience with Buc-ee’s and I loved them! Even bought baby grandson a stuffed Buc-ee for Christmas. 😄

They will stop the assembly line and make the sandwich to order. My wife gets it without the bbq sauce and we all love the place.
Sounds like where we will stop for breakfast heading north to visit our kids.

There is a Hwy 236 is just north of Ocala, it’s not Exit 236.
Loves is very close, probably the next exit. There is a Pilot truck stop on Hwy 236, I am guessing Buc-ee’s will either be next door to Pilot or across the street from Pilot, they usually are.
We buy brisket by the pound with sauce on the side. It travels well in a cooler. We usually stopped at Buc-ee’s close to Atlanta border, buy pound of brisket and bring it with us to our home in TV. I can’t imagine Marion county dragging their feet on this, Buc-ee’s pays well, employees are happy, place is packed, even late in the night.

Just to clear up part of this discussion, the Buc-ee’s will be located south of Hwy 326 in Ocala.

It is going to be almost 2 miles south of the exit! Not the best of locations.
Buc-ee’s is not the least expensive places to stop and shop (although the gas prices are good). Being close to The Villages, I wonder if part time employees get an employee discount?

Actually most Buc-ee’s are a mile or 2 off freeway. They require a large parcel of land. As I said I have never been to one of their locations that the parking lot and the pumps weren’t busy. We usually are stopping around 2am and the place is hopping. Most of their sites are never easy on easy off, yet it never detours those seeking 50 gas pumps, and the cleanest bathrooms ever

I 75 and wildwood makes more sense! Just before the turnpike. The Ocala location seems odd for them unless they are putting in another exit.

By Villages standards, I'd say their prices are very reasonable. $6.99 for a tasty brisket sandwich seems priced right to me.
Tons of snacks for about $3 or less.
25 things you can buy at Buc-ee’s that cost less than a gallon of gas - al.com (https://www.al.com/life/2022/07/25-things-you-can-buy-at-buc-ees-that-cost-less-than-a-gallon-of-gas.html)
Sure they don't offer 2 for $3 hot dogs like Love's but those hot dogs aren't that good anyways.

They tend to pick rural locations right beside an interstate at least from the ones that I've been to. I have a feeling that a 30 acre commercial parcel at 75/44 would cost an enormous amount of money compared to that land around Ocala.

Though would rather have a Costco, this is great news - I’ve only been to a Buc-ee’s once, last year on a road trip from New Orleans to Pensacola (in Alabama along The interstate just east of Mobile).
I've never been to or heard of a Buc-ees. If I'm up there I'll try it out.

I like Buc-ee's. They're building the biggest one ever not far from our northern house (if you consider deep-south Tennessee as "north") in the Pigeon Forge area. It is like the cleanest AM/PM, Sheetz, WaWa, whatever you have ever been in, with bathroom stalls that are actual rooms, not stalls, and about 20x the size the stores you are used to, with a Cracker Barrel style shopping experience, but 20x bigger than Cracker Barrel. They have dozens, if not hundreds of gas pumps, with multiple pumps dedicated to DEF, 100% gas, diesel, etc.
While the Beaver Nuggets are a bit too sweet for me, the jerky and variety are second to none.
I am not one, but there are obsessed fans that rival Disney-aholics. They have FB groups, they go to store openings, they travel the country to get to all the locations, they have online "shoppers" like Barb Escobar who will shop and ship to aficionados not near a Buc-ee's. They are a bit of a destination experience.
Some, however, are not at all impressed- just like there are some that inexplicably hear about Costco and think, "meh."

I stopped at the Buc-ees just south of Macon, Georgia on a trip up to Michigan and was very impressed. That one has 250 gas pumps at that one and the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen! The Bar-B-Q was really good and their jerky selection is incredible.

Will help with long trips north. But with its location north of Ocala may offset the lower gas prices and the travel to get gas on a regular basis.

We have on 4 miles from our house. 3 yrs. ago everything was very cheap. Gasoline is still the cheapest place to get it. Bathrooms are unbelievably nice. You’ll love it, I think you will.

I was 98 Lbs when we found out about Buc-ees. :icon_hungry: I'm not 98 Lbs anymore! Our first visit was in Texas. I guess that must make the difference but I like meat from Iowa to and just about anywhere else is fine by me.:1rotfl:

There is a new interchange being built at that location. It is in conjunction with the extension of two roads. They will have an exit right there! It is in the paperwork posted here.
