I wish the powers to be would change the year reuirement to say 20 years old or more. The only other requirement would be a 'classic'. I've got an 03 Ford Thunderbird a true classic:MOJE_whot:

In Florida, for example, vehicles must be at least 30 years old to qualify for antique or historic designation.
Be patient it’s only another 8 years

That's still NEW. Generally 25 years old is the norm for classic and antique car clubs.

A 20 year old 2003 car is a lot different than a 20 year old 1940s model was back in 1960.
Cars today last forever. 300,000 - 400,000 miles is not unusual today. Back then 100,000 miles and your car was junk.

I’d take a 1940-50 car before the junk they make now. Cars don’t last as long as you say. Made of plastic.

The recent Tbirds are not classics to me. The 1955-1957 Tbirds are of course classics.
I don't view a car as a classic unless it over 50 years old.

You've posted that whine numerous times in this forum - do you think the organizers might see it and just act on your desire from this?
Why don't you contact the organizers directly to discuss the possibility and then you'll have your answer to your wishes.

 So, the 3rd. Sat. next month I can enter my 2022 Sonata? Or do they ask the year and you can lie and nobody will check. Or maybe some other way to break the rules..... I get so confused. I can never remember which rules are OK to break and which we have to follow. I find it easier to just try and follow all them. As they say "Your mileage may vary"

People seem willing to argue about anything. A great villages business. We card everyone equally.
McDonalds-a rude awakening when the zit faced kid gives you a senior coffee and does not ask you to prove your age.

So I assume that you're driving a 1945 Packard?
Today's cars are much safer and better built that cars of the past. They are safer and have many more features. You would never have expected a car in the 50s to go 200,000 miles.

In Florida when your auto is 20 years old you can obtain Antique License Plates. As well you can get Antique Automobile Insurance. When an auto is 20 years old and Antiqued you can drive to car shows, car clubs, and mechanics. Antique Insurance states not to use as a daily driver.

All I can say is you can always start your own club, in other communities they have car shows, that include newer Corvettes to Old ramblers and even a guy with a " fish mobile" , basically people that are just enamored of their cars, we have live music and specials at a restaurant where we show them off. So feel free to start up your own thing!

I don’t know where you get the misinformation
Some states, though, allow cars to be classified as antique or classic in just 20 years, while others require it to be older. In Florida, for example, vehicles must be at least 30 years old to qualify for antique or historic designation.Mar 2, 2020

The cars are checked and - 30 cars aren't Allowed. This is a classic car show, you can always car to a used car lot and see the "newer" cars. Yours isn't a classic car

If you are referring to the cruise in in SS, the cars are not "checked" to verify they are at least 30 years old. But, I guess they must be a "replica" of a model that is at least 30 years old. If a vehicle showed up that did not meet the criteria, and The Villages organizers did not recognize the vehicle as a model less that 30 years old, it would likely be pointed out by the participants. If too many cars qualify for admittance, many would be turned away especially in the winter months when attendance is high.

Actually most vehicles sold 1902-1920 were electric vehicles not gasoline driven.

Not true. Many very eary (1900-1910) cars were electric, but by 1915 or so gasoline was far more common.

And people did not want to stop using horses and buy one of these newfangled motorcars. Sound familiar?

What about the spectators? I really have no interest in looking at cars that I can see in the car park behind Katie Belle's. I enjoy going most months but in this heat it's a struggle to get round what is there already.
My vote would be to increase the age to 40 years - there are already too many "modern" cars there.

IMHO and not trying to be mean just honest this is far from a classic car. Just a failed attempt to return the Tbird to prominence.
