Trust Attorney. I have narrowed our choices down to three Attorneys to prepare a Trust for us. If you have received legal assistance from any of these three do you recommend that attorney and if so why. Thanks in advance. The attorneys are Amy Pittman, Eric Millhorn, or Burns and McLin.

We used Andrew Curtis in Fruitland park. Rather simple process so any of your choices would work.

Millhorn has a separate group that handles trusts, wills, estate documentation.
They do an excellent job. They provide hard copy as well as thumb drive.
Reasonable cost.

I too have made up a Revocable Living Trust / Power of Attorney / Living Will and have gone to various Trust Attorneys including Amy Pittman and have decided on MILLHORN & SHANAWANY Law Firm located behind Billy's Cafe Restaraunt and near Cracker Barrel,

The Person I have dealt with is "SHAM" SHANAWANY" and is prompt, courteous and 1/2 price of what others are and has no problem changing, modifying or appointments.

There is also FREE CONSULATION for charges, advice or what you need in order to have everything correct.

I have been going to him on 4 years now changing beneficiaries, or modification without expensive cost. You will find he is a great guy

Note that there are two different Millhorn Law Groups. We used Millhorn Law on 301 in Oxford and Wedgewood Lane in the Villages. We would not use the other Millhorn group as friends who tried that office had less than desirable results at a different price structure.

McLin Burnsed has been around since I was a kid ( not in the villages but in Leesburg) My dad was an attorney there and Shannon McLin lives in TV currently, though she is not an attorney at this firm, she is an attorney in Orlando. It’s a simple process and I’m sure any of the mentioned will be great.

Susan Sullivan is excellent. She only does Wills and Trusts. She has been in TV for over 20 years. We have used her for the last 15 years. Her office is on 466 just east of 301.

Probably less known because she does not advertise. But she is excellent and charges reasonably.
She also referred one friend with very complex trust issues (lots of money, businesses and previous family trusts) to another lawyer and explained that they needed a trust lawyer who handled the more complicated issues.
She has updated our trust multiple times over the years and reasonably low cost.
Great person and very competent.

And I used Ed. Be prepared to re-register all your accounts (bank/broker) and properties (except for cars) into the name of the trust. If you don't, you're back to probate which is what the trust is trying to avoid. Another benefit of a trustee, you can name any person/relative/friend. Not so with an executor in Florida.

BTW, Trotter and Soulsby have periodic lectures on the subject where you can ask any question and be eligible for a "discount" within x weeks.

My parents worked a lot with Jennifer Henson. She did a very good job with setting up the trust as far as I know but we have been kind of on our own once something happens after the trust has been set up. But I am not the kind of person who calls lawyers a lot with questions.

Doesn't death on beneficiary avoid probate for financial accounts? Thought you could do a quick claim deed for a house and just put your beneficiary on the title of your car? And if your really smart, only Your name is on your credit accounts. When you die your debt dies also. So they can probate my credit accounts with no assetts to tie up. Realize other people may have something more complicated.

I used them as well. Very happy. My son went with me and Ed explained everything to him and said if I pass they will walk him through everything. He felt very confident when we left. I think that was the most important outcome.

Ed Soulsby is the best! Very friendly. Explains every document in layman’s terms and lays out all the options.
