I’m looking for a contractor who installs either the poles or garage stop blocks to prevent running into a garage wall with a car or golf cart. Any suggestions?

Tennis ball on a string.
I have used that in the past but was looking for something that offers more protection.

Order a couple of these. If you don't want to drill and bolt them to your floor simply use some heavy duty construction adhesive.

Those are the type things I had in mind originally when I posted. Thanks at least I have some options now.

No need to go through the expense of installing anything. You simply want to know when your car is coming too close to the wall - easy peasy - Affix a tennisball to a chord or string, hang it from the garage ceiling to the height of your windshield. When you pull into the garage, and your windshield touches the tennisball, then you've gone far enough.
Installing poles or blocks might protect the wall, but they don't do well for the front end of the car, should you run into them.

Why spend large sums when there is an easier, more efficient method. Works everytime. Come see for yourself. If interested email me at Michael

I would thing the blocks could be dangerous when the car is not in the garage, you might forget they are there & trip on them.

I have this laser assist and love it. A motion detected light is included(with mine anyway) so a light comes on in the garage besides the one on the opener. Easy to install!

Can it be a golf ball found on an executive course or would it require one found on a championship course?😀

Take a small piece of carpet approx. 2' by 2' screw or nail a 2x4 across one end. Lay the carpet down where you want the tire to stop. The 2x4 on the topside of the piece of carpet lets you know when to stop. No need to affix to floor, the weight of the car holds the carpet in place. Have these in my garage in FL and MD and always work just fine.

IMHO, if you can't figure out how to stop before you run into the wall, it's probably time to turn in your license and keys.

Go to Home Depot or Loews and get the 4X4 wood post for fences. They are 8 Feet long. Place adhesive on the bottom and place them exactly where you want them.

I use the old tennis ball on a string to make sure I've left enough room for my wife to walk around the front of the car to get into the house

I like to back into the garage so I mounted a mirror on the wall angled so I can see across the front of the car to make sure the front end is just clear of the door closing. You could use the same system so you can see the front of the car and get close to the wall.

THere are electronic devises you hang on the wall that porject a RED BEAM OF LIGHT so as you approach the light will shine on the cart and you will know how far you ae from the wall. Not vety expensive and you can do it yoursfelf.

ACE hardware had a plastic bumper strip self-stick designed to signal a bump when run over for positioning vehicle. I added a 2x2 wood beam on top with stainless steel screws for a fuller block.
There is also a battery powered or adapter powered indicator light with sensor to mount on the wall, with ultrasound detection adjustable, to indicate when car is approaching the wall. Several brands.

Tennis ball on a string.
I'm sure any handyman could install the posts or low stops for you to trip over. It's a pretty simple install. It will protect your walls, etc., the laser parking assist will do a good job as a parking guide but won't protect your laundry tub or cabinet or anything else in your garage.

Not often we get a poster that admits that someone in the house has an issue driving and/or gauging distance so kudo's for doing that.....as scary as it is.

Why don't you just measure from the ceiling of the garage for each vehicle and put in a hook you can hang a string with a rubber stopper on it. When your car hits the stopper, that's where you stop the car. Much simpler and no cost.

I got this for my husband after he ran into his saw on our metal shelves and gouged the car's fender. Heavy-Duty Rubber Parking Curb | LTD Commodities (https://www.ltdcommodities.com/catalog/productDetailPage.jsp?productId=prod2360099&_requestid=4062051)
It's sturdy, works well and is $14.99 plus shipping.

I know of a lady in The Villages who didn't hit her brakes in time and blew the pole out of the concrete, hit the washer and damaged the closet inside the house. Very little damage to the car but lots to washer and closet. I would try the tennis ball hanging from the ceiling.

My kids sent me some via the mail. I was amazed. They were fairly heavy. But they work great, and I can move them when I want, which will be nice if I decide to buy a larger or smaller car.
