I've been in a couple of carts that have those, it's only a glorified fan. A better fan is a 12" overhead fan that right above your head blowing down. The one in the dash you can hardly feel it.

If you're truly wanting to be cooled, get an Atomic Electric Vehicle, it's air conditioned. They can be taken on the golf course, but you might wear out the doors. There is a dealer on Signature Drive behind Sparr on 44 across from Traverse Shopping Center.

We've had the Breezeasy in our cart for 10 years and it's a lifesaver. vents can be pointed in any direction. We have it mounted below dash but some people install them under roof in rear.

Some people install the Curtis Air Conditioner. Works on Yamahas and other carts. The entire roof of your cart is replaced with an aluminum roof with a flat air-conditioner already in it. I’m not sure, but it might work even with just your rain flaps down. You might not need hard doors. The air-conditioner part is about two inches higher than the roof. I would certainly consider it. I wouldn’t use it while golfing, but I might on a half-hour trip to some store or restaurant. (As for those who say if you can’t take the heat, why did you come to Florida, I want to know if they have the AC on in their homes these days (grin).) I suspect that several cart dealers in the area could put one in for you.

But a seasoned villager gave me a great tip and my problems in that department ended: In the warm months keep your air above 76, say 76-78, and run your ceiling fans in the house. It’s amazing how much it helps. My body apparently just doesn’t adjust very well. That overhead fan in the cart Shown in a previous post is incredible though. Also, wet A towel and put it in the cooler to help when it’s in the 90’s. Just pull the towel out and wrap around your neck, and when it warms up stick it back in the cooler for a little bit. And get that overhead fan. Btw we did get a cart with a sleekline cab. Love it to block rain and wind.

Same for us. We have it at 77 in the house and it has really helped us acclimate to the year round warmer weather. Even now (9am) I am wearing a sweatshirt until it warms up a bit more in the house. Only problem we have is when our family and friends from up north come visit, we have to set it lower for them or they complain and then we are constantly cold in the house.

We tried them all including Crown. Only one works well and that is the Atomic Kool Kart. Effective even on a 96 degree day with high humidity. They are very expensive but to us worth it. Jim H

I absolutely love the idea of turning the thermostat up a couple of degrees. We moved to Florida 46 years ago and loved being outside. We were always in the pool or at the beach but we can no longer tolerate the heat. I think we became too acclimated to air conditioning, which our northern friends can’t understand. I came to FL for the heat. It's the humidity that is oppressive at times. We keep AC as high as possible and still de-humidify. Otoh, when temps drop to 60 I want the heat on. I get enough natural air flow in a golf cart if I don't have to sit in the sun for long.

Here's an even better idea, we keep our air on 84 during the day and 83 at night. Anything lower it's too cold for us. Of course I grew up in Florida and didn't have A/C in the home or never in school all the way through 12th grade.

That must seem like a real novelty, a government building, school, office in Florida with no A/C, the windows were always open. St. Petersburg High School is the oldest in Florida, built in 1926 and is still in operation without A/C. We had two big courtyards inside the walls and the classrooms all wrapped around and the hallways were open to the courtyards.

Snowbirding gets old after a while. All that packing and unpacking ... always wanting something that is at the other place ... issues with plumbing/HVAC/etc always happening at the house where you are not currently staying ... We did it for several years and I don't miss it! YMMV.

Maybe you don’t have to do what I do but to many people keep there homes to cold . I’ve lived all over the he world you would be surprised how well the human body responds. I also don’t drink anything cold outside , even at the beach just plain whatever the temperature is water.and I ‘m out most nights for dinner or visiting I have never even when I lived on beach in Miami gone into a restaurant or a party even a barbecue in shorts , I’m either in jeans or slacks current fashions only . The heat shouldn’t turn people into slobs

I agree, if I set mind lower than 76 I have hard time breathing due to fluid build up in my lungs or nasal passages. I find 77 is right temp for me, but during the day I do run the ceiling fans.

Want real A/C. Atomic Electric (as pictured a few posts back). Air, Heat, windshield wipers, lithium batteries, radio, backup camera, etc etc ...... had 2 of them over the last 3 years. The one I have now is lithium batteries. Get 60-65 miles on a charge. If you are an XXL person it might be a bit tight because it has doors and you can't hang out over the sides. :D

I played golf Friday at Cane Garden and it's first time I've seen an Atomic Car on the golf course. I've seem them on the streets many times, but on the course it wasn't any bigger than the golf carts right next to it. I don't know the person, but the group in front of us had the Atomic Car and it was purple like this one, but had LSU decals, LSU seat covers and license plate, it looked really neat and of course the guy was wearing LSU colors.
