What is the rought cost of solar tubes including instalation? Just looking for a budgetary number. Does the cost per tube go down when multiple tubes are installed at the same time?

We used Solar Guys, 2 standard tubes, installed, approx $1,100.
They do have various upgrade features available that could drive the cost up.
Not aware of standard discounts for multiple tubes, but I'm sure they'd be willing to discuss it.

If you are looking for just some rough numbers, you can plan on somewhere between $500-$800 a unit depending on several factors. You can give us a call at 1-866-669-5259 and we would be more than happy to give you quote. We can go over sizing, options, accessories, and tax credits.

I walked buy your display on a market night and noticed the are two sizes, large and small solar tubes. Is that what the $500-$800 is about?

Yes we have 2 different sizes. A 10" which is great for smaller rooms like a bathroom, laundry room, or hallway. We also have the larger 14" which is great for kitchens, living rooms, dinning rooms, and offices. Our showroom is right near the Market of Marion 1 mile south of it on the same side of 441. We have about 15 units installed with all the different fixture styles and options. I highly recommend stopping by next time you are in the area.

 We love ours! Both look as good as they did the day they were installed. Was just reading this thread and stopped to look up our bill and was shocked to see we bought ours 9 years ago today..... 6/9/10. What a coincidence! :)

In the summer it's extremely hot up in the crawl space. Do you do these installs in the summer?

We have a 10" and a 14" and I swear that we paid about $400 for both. We had them put in in 2010 but I can't imagine they raised the price that much. They are Velux brand solar tubes.

Yes we install year round. Funny enough our guys are so used to the heat they only complain when it gets really cold out.

I had 4 Solar Tubes installed by The Solar Guys recently. One in each bathroom, One in our add on office and one in the kitchen. I love them. No need to turn on the light during the day in bathrooms or office. You also can get a nightlight feature so when it becomes dark, it is a nightlight. The nightlight feature is great, especially in bathrooms and kitchen. Installer was very professional and did a great job! Explained everything. I am very, very happy I got them installed!

What would the total cost be for two large and two small solar tubes installed?

Don't count on tax rebate you are told about. Could be (and probably will be) discontinued this year to help pay for "tax cut"?

Does installing solar tubes effect the warranty on your roof?

I had three installed 5 years ago, love them and Solar Guys were great to deal with. A phone call to the warranty department would answer you warranty question but based on experiences here the warranties on the shingles are worthless (there are threads to read). I can't imagine any structural issues would be an issue, look at all the solar panels around and expanded lanai's that change roof lines. Then there are the skylights, weather stations and tv antennas (lot of them showing up) so holes in the roof is not unusual but as I suggested, call the warranty department to get your answer.

No installing a tubular skylight will not void your warranty. Of course the original roofing company will not warranty work performed by us but that is why we give you a lifetime warranty on our installations. We have over 70,000 units installed throughout Central Florida and with the internet like it is today we wouldn't be in business if they leaked.
