How to Hang Pictures

How do you hang pictures on the wall in TV.
Do you just drive nails into the wall?
Buy the stuff that you hang them then later are able to
take it down?
Get a handyman to do it?
HELP!!!
We have lots of pictures and nothing on the walls.

If you do not want to damage your walls, and are unsure, I would say get an expert. Amazon sells picture mounting hangers cheap, and its like three small nails. And, if you take down the picture, its a little hole to fill in, and a little touch up paint.

If you are not worried about the small nail holes, get the hangers, get a hammer and small needle-nose pliers, hold the nail with the pliers, then hammer slow through the hole of the hangers.

Where I live in the north, I paid a handyman that was a friend probably 150$ to hang my artwork (because they are one of a kind), however I did that to help him out with money also.

Don't drive nails, get OOK 50918 Professional Picture Hanging Value Pieces Kit, it hangs up to 17 frames (7$). Easy. You could get that, then let a friend hammer them in, the nails are very small.

I have hung about a dozen items in the house, in general I agree with the comments above, however, I have used several of the typical single nail and hook hangers with no problems. ACE hardware has a nice kit that has multiple hangers.

Buy picture hooks at WalMart (least expensive) and hang your pictures exactly the same way you hung them in your previous home,
or am I not understanding your question???
Picture hooks are sold according to the weight of what you are hanging.
I would never recommend nails.

No offense, but how did you hang them where you used to live? The walls here are drywall (sheetrock) just like everywhere else. The only difference is the textured finish.

If you decide to do it yourself there is a new system that has a built in level. You attach one part to the picture and the other on the wall using the level to be sure the picture is level and square. Works great on larger pictures.

In our old home which was built in 1966 which we lived in 1992-2016, we just drove nails in the drywall. We did it as most hillbillies and rednecks would do it. Being Florida frogs we want to do things right this time. Thank you for all your suggestions. Is there really a Village Hangman?

We moved into a new house last month and we used Monkey Hooks to hang several of our pictures. They don't work on walls that have insulation behind them, but they are great everywhere else.

A little under two years ago, I went through the process of hanging pics and paintings in our "new used" Village home; we just had the entire interior repainted yesterday (by Kling, did a incredible job) and had all the holes filled in so we could move all the pics and paintings around to new locations so now the process has started again. :ohdear:
