I'm looking at the Sneaky Pete holster. If you're not familiar with it, here it is.

Does anyone know if this would meet concealed carry requirements if the holster is visible?

The gun would not be visible and it not obvious that it's a gun holster.

790.053 Open carrying of weapons.—(1) Except as otherwise provided by law and in subsection (2), it is unlawful for any person to openly carry on or about his or her person any firearm or electric weapon or device. It is not a violation of this section for a person licensed to carry a concealed firearm as provided in s. 790.06(1), and who is lawfully carrying a firearm in a concealed manner, to briefly and openly display the firearm to the ordinary sight of another person, unless the firearm is intentionally displayed in an angry or threatening manner, not in necessary self-defense.

No one would know if the holster holds a firearm or a cell phone or some energy bars. Thats the nice thing about a Sneaky Pete.

I just browsed six different gun forums where the Sneaky Pete was discussed. From what I've read, they are legal in Florida, they are used by many, most people dismiss the wearer as a nerd who has a small computer or something electronic. The only negative mentioned was it may be difficult to remove quickly in a firing position.

I carry a shield with a ct laser in a wright leather works holster they make them custom for your gun nice holster not cheap but well made

I like it. The gun has to be concealed and it is. I would think it is ok but I would stop by the sheriff's office and ask. I would also write the sheriff a letter so you get an answer in writing.

Remember there are 10's of thousands of concealed carriers in Florida, so many will know exactly what what you are carrying. The other possibility, as remote as it may be, someone knowing you are carrying may attempt to take the gun from you. For me my .380 Bodyguard fits securely in a holster under my untucked shirt or jacket. I prefer that no one knows I am carrying.

Remember there are 10's of thousands of concealed carriers in Florida, so many will know exactly what what you are carrying. The other possibility, as remote as it may be, someone knowing you are carrying may attempt to take the gun from you. For me my .380 Bodyguard fits securely in a holster under my untucked shirt or jacket. I prefer that no one knows I am carrying.

The "SP" logo on the Sneaky Pete gives it away as being intended for carrying a weapon. Kel-Tec makes a similar mistake with an embroidered "Kel-Tec" on their belt holster. I blacked out the words on mine, but an alert officer friend of mine immediately discerned what it was. I use a different approach now.

I doubt that you are going to get any Sheriff in his right mind to give you something in writing that a particular holster meets the requirements of the law.

As someone else has already observed, the SP holster could contain a cell phone, candy bars or something else. Be sure that the outline of a pistol cannot be seen.
