Anyone have any experiences with removing satellite dishes from property? Are there businesses in the Villages that do this? How do you do it by yourself? This is for one that is set into the ground rather than stuck on the roof or side of house.

Call the company on the dish. Maybe they would like it back.

All I had to do was lean on mine a couple times, it loosened up. Then I just lifted it out of the hole, cut the wire and put dish and pole on the curb on trash day. Then pulled wire back to the junction box cut off there,Done

If you pull it up and curb it on garbage day maybe someone will recycle it.

Did the same. Direct TV didn't want it back and since we didn't use them it was an eyesore and mower obstruction, out it went.

Our satellite company did not want the one they put up in our backyard either. It has been in our yard for several years now. Great for the spiders making webs from the house to the dish but bad for walking around back at night to see the stars and the like.

Sage- mine is back by the slough. Too many trees and it is a good 150' from the house. We got rid of TV a long time ago

Ours was stuck on side of house so I unscrewed it and put it out for the trash. The dish company is not interested in old used dishes.

I agree it needs to be dug out. A pretty strenuous job as the concrete block is set.

DISH did not want to remove DirectV installation, so I had DISH installed in another spot.

Ditto! Except mine did not make it to trash day. The pickers got it the night before.
