Do a search on TOTV for the Salt Room there was a thread awhile back that talked about it and I believe a web site to visit. There is a Salt Room in The Villages and the thread will let you know where.

I squirt saline into the sinuses with a syringe. It's easier and cheaper than going to the coast, but that's another option.

Kitty, try a Neti Pot.

I want to make a joke about pot..but it's not funny if you aren't smoking it..
a Neti Pot as I've just looked it up, is a plastic container for saline and marketed by A&H which makes Baking soda--
Next time my sinuses need it, I'll add a little baking soda to the mix.
from internet:
Nose washing can be a do-it-yourself affair. Here's Pynnonen's home recipe:
¼ teaspoon of kosher salt (kosher salt has no iodine or other additives)
¼ teaspoon of baking soda (to buffer the solution and make it less irritating)
8 ounces of water
Mix and squirt gently in each nostril with a squeeze bottle.

I think the OP is looking for someone who has had personal experience with salt rooms and the benefits they offer rather than directions to get to one. They apparently are used to treat everything from pulmonary issues and allergies to eczema. I would be interested also in hearing from someone also who has actually been to a "salt room" and their experience.

I was hoping someone who knows would post too, which is why I revived the thread...

I don't know about salt rooms but that room is sodium chloride, wrong salt. Himalayan salt has wonderful health benefits. Sold at Whole foods, Fresh food and Trader Joes. I order it from saltworks.com, 5# bag, fine ground for table salt. They also have block, inhalers, and bath salt. Has 84 minerals and essential elements, do a google search to read more of health benefits of this natural, unrefined salt.
Have also wondered, but in reading more, there has been some concern raised about people with asthma using the rooms. What concentration of salt is dispensed into the room's air? Generally it's rock salt that's crushed and used in the halogenerator, the device that disperses a dry saline aerosol into the atmosphere. At the salt room nearby, do they adjust the concentration for individuals or is there only one "setting" used?
Some individuals are indeed helped by this type of therapy, not necessarily a cure, but a treatment that helps. One thing to think about, how long do the benifits last once treatment has stopped? Lived at the coast for my childhood and young adult life...ah, there is nothing quite like the smell of the ocean. The air is refreshing and calming, but it did not protect us from germs or allergic responses.

I would also like to hear from people who use The Villages Salt Room.
I've heard they have a Massage Therapist on staff??

I haven't used the Salt Rooms but can say since buying a couple of the Himalayan Salt Lamps and having them on in our bedroom, I feel I am breathing better and though hard to explain the air seems better. I know you can get them at Flea Markets and I am sure online I bought mine at Village Vibrations and they have a really nice selection. Plus I love using their machines and infrared saunas.

I took advantage of a groupon and did 3 of The Salt Room treatments. You sit in zero gravity chairs in salt room. it was a very relaxing experience...not sure it provided enough benefit for me to continue after the groupon...if you go to groupon in enter salt room location the villages, there's deal on so you could try it.
