Some say that Off Deep Woods with 25% deet will keep no-see-ums away. It did not work for me and they ate me up terribly. I hope it works for you as the bites are painful.
I searched the internet for remedies to keep those bugs away but found very little helpful information. I can tell you wiping vinegar on the bites does help with the itching. I smelled really bad for a week. Lol.

We go to Sanibel Island periodically and the noseeums just eat me alive! I have used lots of repellants, like Deep Wood Off, special noseeum sprays, etc.
Believe it or not, what worked for me was Skin so Soft lotion by Avon. It's an oily lotion and I put it on pretty liberally. Once I put it on, I never had another bite.
Plus, makes you smell pretty...ha ha ha

In the spring and fall, the no-see-ums and skeeters attack my lower legs and ankles. I just use OFF, it works like a charm for me.

We lived in south GA for a few years and found rubbing a Bounce sheet in your hair kept them away.:icon_wink:

For the first time here in TV I have seen tiny little gnatty thingies getting INSIDE the screen on our lanai. Is that what you are talking about?
Usually when mosquito season comes, "THEY" spray at night. Do No see um's breed in stagnant water? Or do they rent a room?

What are these things? I never heard of them. Do they fly or crawl? Sounds like a horror movie:popcorn:

We are coming for a visit in May from Ca. and have never heard noseeums. What kind of bug is it? I want to be prepared.

They fly. And bite. They are almost too small to see but they manage to inflict very painful bites.

I have never been bitten by a noseeum in The Villages... ...and they love me!
I'm only bothered by those little pests when on the gulf coast; never on the east coast...
If I'm wrong about noseeums in TV, someone will correct me.

Yes, just google, natural bug spray recipe. Its a combination of oils, lemongrass, geranium, orange, eucalyptus, lemon and cedarwood in a base of grapeseed oil.. Works great and smells awesome.
