I did a TOTV search but found limited info from 4-5 years ago.
Looking for dog friendly beaches with or without amenities......day trip .......overnight would be a secondary consideration. |

We take our guy to Flagler Beach. The rule is they must be on a leash, but we've used a long line (50 feet) in order to let him swim. I've seen unleashed dogs on the beach, but there's supposedly a $500 fine.
I'm not sure about accommodations. The place we stay in is out of the '50s--verrrrrrrrrry old but very clean. The Hilton it's not.

It's good to stay at a place with an outdoor hose!

Flagler gets a second vote! We went to Jimmy's Hang Ten Dog friendly Tiki bar. They bring a big bowl of ice water and treats out for them! Fun place! ♥

By the way, BTK, there is a fantastic dog park and beach near Venice. "The Brohard Paw Park features a fenced dog play yard that leads to the only beach area in Sarasota County where dogs are allowed. Please observe the posted signage stating where the dog beach ends."
The dog beach is accessed through the dog park, which has dog washing and water stations. It's really very lovely. I wish it weren't so far away. It would be an overnight trip. Parks Directory | Venice, FL
