In 2018 bought a used 4 month old Yamaha with 318 miles from LSL. Zero problems with warranty transfer for service. Best I can do.

We bought a 2022 6month old quiet Tech from individual, but haven’t needed to take in for service. Sorry

If you are buying from the owner and not LSL, you will get ZERO warranty. The only way they transfer is if you buy it from them. Also, if you buy from the owner, good luck even being able to buy a part from LSL. They wouldn't sell me a belt... but they would let me make an appointment to bring my cart in where they would look at it to determine if it needed a belt, ($$'s), and then install the belt for me (more $$'s), and finally pay 3 times what the belt costs online for the part itself. LSL is a monopoly running a great racket. By controlling warranties and who can get service, they control the market.

The Villages golf cart stores in Brownwood and Magnolia Plaza will sell you parts.

Thanks All for the reply's

To Clarify I bought a 1 year old cart from a private seller that he bought at Villages golf cars.

I want to transfer the warranty to my name so the reaming warranty is covered.

Has anybody actually done this with them?

Or do I need to do it at another Yamaha Dealer?

I don't see how they can refuse if they are a Yamaha Dealer

Many times, warranties are only good for the "original owner"...

I have no idea if Yamaha follows that business model, but I would not be surprised if they didn't...

In 2020 we purchased a 2019 with 45 hours on it from a private party.

We went to TV shop, paid $50 warranty transfer fee.

Did have a minor warranty covered issue last year and encountered no issues with TV shop.

Country Village Power sells all Yamaha golf cart parts and located very close to the Villages in Webster. There are zero problems on getting parts from them.

Only the 4 year Factory Yamaha Warranty is transferrable. The transfer must take place within the first 3 years.

Any Authorized Yamaha Dealer can aid with the transfer.

[Sorry, I didn't see the above when I posted. Particulars are attached]

Yamaha says the Dealer can "charge" for making the transfer. In many states, this is not allowed and it's not allow in any state, if it's an automobile ... I'm not sure why golf carts would be different, but they might be.

See the attached.

The other mis conception is that the dealer has to do the service to keep the warranty intact. Just like your automobile, anyone can do the service. If an outside source sees a warranty issue, it can then be brought up with any local dealer
