Default Yamaha, Club or EZ GO

We are looking to buy a golf cart. I know we want gas but is there any difference between Yamaha, the Club cart or EZ Go. I'm sure this has been debated many times.

Thanks for any info.

EZ GO...You will be far better off, if you choose Yamaha.go to dealer on 441 North near Ocala...however did much research and EZ GO is far better and USA made.

I lurked on TOTV for a couple of years before we bought a house. There are *lots* of discussions gas versus electric and EZGo versus Club versus Par.

I lived in WV for a few years before we moved here. In WV, I learned that there were Chevy folks and Ford folks (and the slightly feeble minded Chrysler owners and the very feeble minded foreign car owners). Chevy folks would rather walk home thru 20 foot snow drifts in their bare feet before they would ride in a Ford. Same thing for Ford owners.

If the past is a predictor, you will get reasons for each that call into question the sanity of folks who buy other brands. Listen carefully and then get out a large pinch of salt and enjoy.

That having been said, talk to grandpa and grandma's village buggies for a *good* reconditioned cart.

We have a Yamaha and really like, but I do like the sound of the Club Cars. Their mufflers have a more of a rumble sound instead of sounding like a lawnmower.

And Brussels Sprouts.

And Bizdoc above, sounds like a very wise man.

I have an EZ-GO gas (and an electric too). The EZ-GO has a 13.5 HP motor, the Yamaha 11.5. The EZ-GO is quieter than the Yamaha. Other than that they are pretty much the same.

Hubby did his research on gas carts before we bought. EZ GO's have a carburetor whereas the newer Yamaha's are fuel injected. As a plus on the EZ GO, the engine is oil pressure lubricated with a pump and an oil filter. Yamaha's he believes are still splach lubricated. EZ GO's have a 13 horse power Kawasaki engine, whereas Yamaha's are 11hp. Both are good engines. We bought a EZ GO. Take them all for a ride, do your research, and select the one YOU like best. Happy carting!!!!!

It is truly an individual preference - however, if you choose gas, I would recommend Carts and Clubs in Ocala as a dealer with a large selection of Yamaha golf carts. No, I am not affiliated with the brand or dealership nor did I sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last evening.

You can still get a new carbureted Yamaha.....and save some bucks over the FI version. Check with either of the two area factory Yamaha dealers.

Your hubby is correct - the Yamahas are splash systems and have no oil filter.

And your final point is excellent: ........"select the one YOU like best".........

All three brands of those gas carts are good - go with the one you feel is the right one for you.

I replied to the persons request for help on the carts in question. Without giving a detail report on each one, I did my homework and my conclusion without doubt is the EZ GO is by far the better choice, however the Yamaha is a respectable runner-up..
Once again it is down to choice, new vs used, warranty, etc. This is not a contest all I'm trying to do is help this person...I honestly did my homework on EZ GO, Yamaha, Club Car, and Par Car..and I stand by my conclusion. EZ GO came out well in front of the others, with Yamaha the runner-up.

The newer Club Car Gas models also have oil filters/pumps and use Kawasaki Engines. It seems to me that Yamaha and Club Car are the most popular in TV. I'm not sure if Yamaha's splash type oil lube is an issue long term or not vs. a pressurized oil system like the Kaw engines. I would assume pressurized is better especially on uneven surfaces (hillsides etc.), but it's mostly flat in Fl. so who knows if it's a big deal or not......
