Default Yamaha Cart Recall

I drove by the Yamaha dealership at LSL this morning. Hundreds of carts lined up for the recall fix. On-line newspaper said 2-3 hour wait.

3 years ago I broke an accelerator spring on my Yamaha. Walked into TV Golf Carts in SS said to parts counter I need one of these. Parts person comes back out with a beefer looking spring. I question this don't look like the right spring. Response - Yamaha has a recall on this spring - no charge sir. Given this was 3 years ago I myself wouldn't be in a rush to be standing in long lines.

Five to ten minutes. Not much to the recall: Remove covers, remove spring, install replacement unit, replace covers.

I went to the Brownwood "event" a couple weeks ago and found it to be very efficient. Two lines feeding four technicians. At five minutes per cart that would be something like 50 carts per hour. If there were truly hundreds of carts in line it could easily become a two hour wait.

Bought my cart from Country Village Power Equipment. Great service, they came to my house and replaced the accelerator return spring in my garage. It took less than 10 minutes.

The recall replacement at Sumter Landing was full at 10:30 and not accepting any more people today. Will be back there on Friday and again next Tuesday. Gentleman told me you can also wait and have it done when your cart is serviced.

I would wait until I get service and get a free loaner.

Is there a list of locations and days that this work is being done?

Are you referring to a free loaner cart that Villages Golf Cars offers to their customers when servicing carts purchased from them?

A couple of things:
1. The repair takes less than ten minutes so if that is the only reason the cart is being serviced then a loaner would not be offered
2. The repair being performed at Sumter today (and other locations on other days) is for any Yamaha cart subject to the recall regardless of where it was purchased (mine was not purchased at Villages Golf Carts and that question never came up)
