What are the restrictions on main roads for street legal carts - can you cross them even though you can't drive on them?

licensed LSV's can drive on any road 35mph or lower ... and yes you can cross roads like 466 and 27/441 or any of the smaller county roads like 101

Not Sure but think street legal carts must have windshield wipers and seat belts. All the times I've driven down Rolling Acres road, 35 mph, I've never noticed a street legal, hmmm!

You can find the information on line for all the restrictions. 25 MPH max speed, 35MPH max speed posted limit, you can cross roads that have a higher limit, and you must have a high tolerance for road rage and maybe a suicide complex....IMO

IMHO, street legal are not worth it. You need several modifications to your golf cart (cost ~$2000), then you need LSV insurance which is almost (if not more than) car insurance cost. All for the ability to drive in traffic at 25 MPH on roads that most cars are going 40 MPH.

Agree, I would never want one. I think they might make sense for people who live outside the bubble and want access to the Villages MMP’s?

I agree that it is not worth it, but you also get to avoid the tunnels and out of the way cart paths.

Are you certain that you are able to cross 27/441 in The Villages or are you thinking about the one street where it is legal in a development north of Chase Bank?

Ther are a lot less Street Legal Carts now than when we moved here. Must be the money.

They are unsafe for those driving them, and a rolling road block hazard for all other traffic.
Get them off the roads!

LSV is classified as a motor vehicle in Florida so that means it is the same as an auto. Subject to Florida Law. Must be registered and insured.

I agree there is no reason any one should be driving a golf cart on a main road. If you are doing so, please justify it. I would be interested in hearing about it
