You can have your cart's speed altered. Easily. But don't come cryin' to me. AND... Do NOT tailgate me. I carry a supersoaker. |

graciegirl do we really need to start the name calling shame on you, you should know better. |
graceygirl is this a picture of your cart its a par car lifted with larger tires, par cars have 400 to 500 amp controllers are capable of going 24 mph stock yours maybe 25-26. stock club cars and ezgo's have a 250 to 300 amp controllers and can be set at 19.6 if there is anything slightly wrong it will not do 19.6.
This is the picture you posted in the show your cart post 3 or 4 posts below this one. |
Fast Golf Carts
Quote:
As one who has been a resident of TV for the last eight years, it appears to me that there are more folks going faster than 20mph than in previous years. I don't have an answer for the speed of golf carts any more than the speed of cars on Interstate 75. You drive the speed limit on I 75 and most every car and truck passes you. Maybe a sign of the times, no? Something to think about----if most people are ignoring the law----could it be a bad law? It seems to me you enforce the speed limit but it seems a "bad law"/unfair law" to ticket someone just because his/her cart can/could/capable of going more than 20mph. These carts we are driving are "way passed" what a golf cart was designed for anyway! Happy carting. |

Your question is? This is the one I drive mostly. |

My cart has an analog speedometer which shows my top speed to be about 19.5 MPH. I was being tailgated and passed so much that I decided to check it by using my handheld GPS. The GPS showed my max speed was right at 20 MPH. I travel on Morse Blvd. every day to check the mail, and have been pleasantly surprised to see a sheriff's deputy there twice this week with a radar gun. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a relatively young golf cart driver getting a ticket on Morse on Tuesday. I'm not sorry for the pleasure I'm getting from the sheriff enforcing the law, and I hope they continue.

I am riding down bueno vista multi trail at about 18 MPH. Saw a cart closing real fast, so I kicked mine up to 25 MPH. The guy went by me like I was parked. For me I enjoy the ride between 15 and 20 MPH.
