I know that BatteryBoys, and Trojan batteries, are meant to be the best, but who else in TV sells golf cart batteries and have you had a good experience with other makes?

Consider Lithium
Eco or Bolt both are great, last forever and change the complete character of your cart |

If I used my golf cart more I would switch to Lithium, but I only go short distances (max. ten miles) a few times a week and am quite happy to plug in after each trip. Is anyone using the Duracell batteries from Sam's Club - half the price of Trojan. |

NOW if the Sam's Club batteries are rated for golf cart service, then IMHO go for it.

I would still look at lithium iron phosphate, LiFePO4, as a one and done solution. The life of the battery is about 10+ years, and it charges like the deep cycle lead acid, but lead acid takes maintenance to maintain the proper water level living in a high heat area. LiFePO4 is a sealed battery, and doesn't explode or burn spontaneously.
YMMV |

The answer to your question depends on whether you are driving a gas or electric cart. For gas any automotive battery can apply. Consider the Florida climate. A cheap battery dies sooner.

I highly recommend switching to lithium batteries for your cart. They have a longer lifespan and don't require constant watering. Plus, they won't leak acid and damage the cart's frame or your garage floor. The overall weight of the cart will be reduced, resulting in better acceleration and range. Make sure to buy a matched set or swap kit specifically designed for your cart, and avoid mixing and matching batteries and chargers. Using the wrong charger can pose a fire risk or damage the batteries. Once you make the switch, you'll wish you had done it sooner. These kits are becoming more affordable and easier to install.

Yes, the Duracell at Sam's are "deep cycle" for golf carts and start at $120 (half the price of Trojan) but I haven't done a full comparison re capacity. However, since I don't roam far I suspect even the least powerful will suffice. However, I shall certainly give Dan the Cart Man a call as well. Lithium? Definitely, if my needs were greater, but I am not fazed by the maintenance of lead-acid so will stick with them. |

In the battery world....you get what you pay for.
Ive seen every brand out there. The lesser priced stuff with one year warranty last about 18 to 24 months with typical village use. The 18 to 24 month warranty batteries last 3 to 6 years in typical village use. Many people have to learn the hard way, but thats human nature. Id say this..." Do it right and cry once" |
