Has anyone tried or have one of these golf car air conditioners like Fresair? Installs on the roof and vents blow on the driver and passenger. Thanks

Personally, I just put the top of the windshield down and drive a little faster.

I have found that passenger seat clip on automotive fans work really well. These can be mounted to the roof, and each fan can be pointed so one for the driver and one for the passenger. I happen to have a left over unit if you are interested and these have speed control also. Let me know.
These were around $25 as I recall.

Depending on what type cart I would be reluctant to put something on roof with certain low tunnels especially if have par-car with 12 tires? If it just blows air there plenty of ways to mount 12v fans inside cart. IMO the air temperature would be same. But, I can see you’re concerned if have Curtis cab on cart?

Agree, my cart has lower type front windshield opening and get lots of air circulation. Unless in enclosed cab I don’t see the benefit? Especially 1500 dollar benifit.

I played golf with a guy who had one. I sat in his cart as we waited for the group in front of us to clear the fairway. It seemed to work pretty well...

Would it really help your comfort? Getting in and out of AC at golf seems odd...might be better to just be acclimated to the heat when golfing. Would you keep the sides down on the cart when the AC is on? Again...seems cumbersome. I have two fans that charge of USB that I use in my cart. They clip to the top front shelf and they blow air adequately to stay cool when golfing. When traveling the front windshield down provide good ventilation. Seems if AC is so important to you an Atomic car/cart might be a better option.

Maybe it's me but I find this a bit foolish.
When I leave the confines of my home most of the time is to beath fresh air. What's next golfers with AC units strapped to their heads. Like one of the previous posters said just put down the top 1/2 of your golf cart window. It's probably healthier for you. |

Tinker, First of all would like to say Thank-You for the advice you have given me since I have lived here in the Villages ( 5 yrs now). Would you be able to install the fans for me and also to install 2 round mirrors on my 2016 Yamaha gas golf cart? I need the brackets for the mirrors and don't know what to get. I am a single female and try to do things myself without asking for help but I can't do these 2 things. Would appreciate some help with someone I can trust. Had a guy come out to put in new battery and charge me $306.00. Kind of high if you ask me. Be happy to pay for your help. Thank-You

Devices to keep you cool in a golf car have been around for decades. 30 years ago i went to a demo in Palm Springs for a roof cooler that dropped the interior of a golf car 20 degrees on a 100 degree day. Fast forward to today and there are still devices that will cool you off.

I don't know how they did it but I've seen a couple golf carts with a small window a/c mounted in the back. I'm guessing 600 to 800 btu and using some kind of inverter for power?

Love all of these comments because I never ever thought about air conditioning in a golf cart because I’m never in my cart long enough, besides like someone said, I just put down my windshield. But interesting comment, thanks!
