Default which electric club car or ezgo?

I have decided I want an electric cart. I have narrowed it down to club car or ezgo. I can get a factory re-manufactured club car with a two year warranty that appeals to me because of the price and warranty. However, talking with the people at Town and Country makes the Ezgo attractive because of the AC capability and braking, etc. but it would be considerably more.

Looking for opinions.

My understanding. Is Club Car is very economical to maintain.

Default To me, there are more questions...

It is more specific than simply Club Car versus EZGO.

Based on your post we know you are looking at the EZGO RXV with AC drive. Never had one, never had any new cart, but once EZGO worked out some issues in 2009/10, sounds like a great cart.

What is the club car? DS? Precedent? How many batteries? Any interesting upgrades, i.e., motor/controller?

Do you mind losing some speed going up hill? I personally do not mind enough to buy a new EZGO, but if you might, you need to feel that Club car on a road like Odell between Morse and Morse. Some pretty steep hills as you go through Mallory and Amelia.

IMO, the warranty is a bit over rated. It would be more important to me to get the cart that felt great even if it dd not have a warranty.

PS. Man, I miss driving my carts

We bought a new EZGO in July and love it. No problems at all - we got the 6 - 8 volt batteries and often go 40 plus miles on a charge with plenty of reserve power remaining. The cart never loses speed on hills and I love the regenerative braking. Based on my experience, I highly recommend the EZGO

We bought a 2010 EXGO RXV from Town & Country 3.5 years ago and it has been an absolutely fantastic cart, no problems at all. We have the 4/12 volt battery configuration and it has plenty of range to go all over The Villages. We have over 8,000 trouble free miles on it.

The cart will maintain speed up hills and accelerates quickly going up the ramps when exiting the golf cart tunnels. If you are a golfer, you will especially enjoy the auto locking brakes when you stop and not have to manually depress the brake pedal every time you stop on the golf course.

As a real world experience, we have on numerous occasions driven from our Villa in Pennecamp to play 9 holes of golf in Briarwood or Oakleigh and stop to grab a bite to eat afterwards and made it back home with plenty of power to spare.

Good luck on whichever make you decide on, but I highly recommend the EZGO because of the AC motor, regen braking, auto locking brakes and 8,000 miles of trouble free miles.

Just one point the Club cars are aluminum frames so they are lighter in weight.

Weight plays into distance to a degree, also will not rust.

But you should drive both.

the remanufactured club car would be much less expensive. however, I plan to have this a long time so it's a big initial investment either way. It's interesting that I don't see very many ezgo ones for sale since the new engine...so it appears people do like them or maybe club cars sell more so that is why there appears to be more for sale....

I have an EZGo and like it. Bottom line is if you like the way it rides. Also consider that folks with Tomberlins generally love them (no, I don't know the range) and are often considered to be worth the premium.

From the comments made by actual Star owners (not simply by opinioned folks), they seem to be pretty good carts now. If I were buying, I would give them a good look.

They are both good as are Star and Tomberlin. I just bought an EZGO because of the AC motor and auto parking break feature. IMO the best for golf. In January we are buying a second cart and re-visit all, including the new Par car.

I drive a 2013 EFI Yamaha but I like the Par Cars I have seen with the
8-6 volt battery's with on board charger and water auto fill even though I'm not sure how it works.
Told by friends they get 80 miles on a charge.

Have had EZ-GO for almost 6 years and would buy again if for nothing but the breaking system! So easy to just hop our and the cart stays!
