I recently purchased a 2007 Yamaha Golf Cart and the other day I noticed an oil spot in my garage on the floor where my golf cart sits. After inspecting the cart I noticed that oil was on one of the bolts that appears to hold a cover on the drivers side. The plate underneath was all wet with oil. The oil level was still ok. Any thoughts on what might be wrong? Bolts are tight. Has any one heard of Steve's Golf Cart Repair? Found him in the phone book. Is there another place I should consider taking it to?

I had a 2005 Yamaha electric cart and found oil spots on garage floor. Looked like coming from rear end of cart, since electric I figured had to be differential area. Ended up having Southern Cart Works take it in and it was a bad oil seal on the differential and they had to remove part of the rear end differential area and press in a new seal. Cost was about $160, but it did fix the problem.

A very common oil leak on Yamaha Gas carts is the side case gasket- that sounds like what you have. Its about an hour to repair with a new gasket.
